Invasive-Wise Tourism Certification
CERTIFICATION
ISCBC has worked in partnership with a diverse group of tourism industry professionals with funding from the Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk to develop the Invasive-Wise Tourism program, a behavior-change program for the tourism industry. The overall goal of the program is to protect species at risk and BC’s rich biodiversity from the threats of invasive species by focusing on high-risk pathways such as movement by tourists, anglers, boaters, floatplanes, and recreationists.
Tourism and Invasive Species is a training course developed exclusively for tourism operators and staff to increase awareness around invasive species and identify practical actions to prevent the spread of invasive species.
The objectives of the course are to:
• Understand the impacts of invasive species on tourism in BC
• Learn the connections between tourism and invasive species
• Identify practical best management practices to prevent the spread of invasive species
Please allow 30 minutes to complete the course.
The final quiz requires a pass mark of 60% to obtain your certificate of completion. You have unlimited attempts.
Upon completion of this course, tourism operators will receive Invasive-Wise certification through ISCBC, as well as access to free resources for operators, staff, and clientele including identification guides, rack cards, and wallet cards.
A special thanks to our current Invasive-Wise partners for their commitment to protecting BC’s biodiversity!
Congrats! You're now enrolled!
