This in person pesticide applicator workshop includes 3 days of instructor-led sessions with experienced trainers, math instruction, backpack sprayer calibration training, and Pesticide Applictors Exam at the end of day 3. This course will introduce you to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), legislation regulating pesticide use, the management of invasive species in BC and how to work safely with pesticides and a variety of application equipment.
Venue: The Williams Lake pesticide applicators training will take place at Thompson Rivers University Campus Williams Lake in Room 1254. 1250 Western Ave, Williams Lake BC V2G1H7. Coffee, Tea, water, and refreshments will be provided throughout the day. For lunch please bring your own food, or pick something up at a nearby restaurant during the lunchbreak.
NOTE: Completion of this workshop does not certify pesticide applicators - participants must pass the provinical pesticide certification exam to be certified offered on day 3 of the course. To recieve a 5 year certification you must acheive between 75% - 100%, to receive a 1 year certification you must acheive between 60% - 74%.

*You will receive your study materials on day 1 of the training
By the end of this course you will;
- have a foundational understanding of the legal requirements for use of pesticides in BC
- understand how pesticides are only one tool in the toolbox for invasive plant management
- be able to perform the necessary steps and calculations for calibrating application equipment
- understand the importance and correct usage of personal protective equipment
- understand how to minimize risks to the environment and public while using pesticides

Cancellation Policy
REFUND POLICY
Full Refunds:
A full refund will be provided if the cancellation request is received at least 10 business days prior to the course start date.
Partial Refunds:
A 50% refund will be issued if the cancellation request is made between 5 to 9 business days before the course start date.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 5 business days of the course start date.
Course Transfer:
Participants may transfer their registration to a future course or transfer their spot to another individual at no additional cost, provided the request is made at least 5 business days before the course start date.
No-Show Policy:
No refunds or transfers will be granted for participants who fail to attend without prior notice.
Unforeseen Circumstances:
If a participant cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies, family emergencies, or severe weather), they may be entitled to transfer to a future course date or receive a full refund. Documentation may be required to support the claim.
Course Cancellation:
If the course is cancelled by the organizers, a full refund will be provided to all registered participants, or they can choose to transfer their registration to a future course date.
