This virtual Pesticide Applicator workshop includes 3 days of live, instructor-led sessions with experienced trainers, self-led eLearning modules, practice scenario activities, and support sessions. This course will introduce you to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), legislation regulating pesticide use, the management of invasive species in BC and how to work safely with pesticides and a variety of application equipment.  
NOTE: Completion of this workshop does not certify pesticide applicators - participants must pass the BC Government pesticide certification exam to be certified. Click here for more information about the BC pesticide applicator certification exam.

2. Supplementary Information for Industrial Vegetation and Noxious Weed Control Pesticide Applicator Certification (2011)

By the end of this course you will; 

  • be prepared to write the 3-hour government exam 

  • have a foundational understanding of the legal requirements for use of pesticides in BC 

  • understand how pesticides are only one tool in the toolbox for invasive plant management 

  • be able to perform the necessary steps and calculations for calibrating application equipment  

  • understand the importance and correct usage of personal protective equipment 

  • understand how to minimize risks to the environment and public while using pesticides
