This in person pesticide applicator workshop includes 3 days of instructor-led sessions with experienced trainers, math instruction, backpack sprayer calibration training, and Pesticide Applicator Exam at the end of day 3. This course will introduce you to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), legislation regulating pesticide use, effective management of landscape pests and how to work safely with pesticides and a variety of application equipment.

NOTE: To be certified, participants must pass the BC Government pesticide certification exam (offered on day 3 of the course.) To receive a 5 year certification you must achieve between 75% - 100%, to receive a 1 year certification you must achieve between 60% - 74%.

*You will receive your study materials on day 1 of the training
By the end of this course you will;
- have a foundational understanding of the legal requirements for use of pesticides in BC
- understand how pesticides are only one tool in the toolbox for pest management
- be able to perform the necessary steps and calculations for calibrating application equipment
- understand the importance and correct usage of personal protective equipment
- understand how to minimize risks to the environment and public while using pesticides
